Intake Process

Admission to New Life Sober Living follows a structured intake process designed to help determine whether the program is a good fit for the applicant and to make sure each new resident understands the expectations of the house.

Interested individuals must first complete the online application for the New Life location they are interested in.

After the application is reviewed, a member of the New Life team will contact the applicant by phone, voicemail, text message, or email to schedule a phone screening. During the screening, we will discuss the applicant's background, current situation, sobriety, recovery goals, and housing needs. We will also explain the New Life program, house expectations, accountability requirements, and answer any questions the applicant may have.

Following the phone screening, New Life will determine whether the applicant appears to be an appropriate fit for the program and whether the available placement meets the applicant's needs. If both New Life and the applicant agree to move forward, the next stage of the intake process will begin.

Applicants who are approved to move forward will receive required intake documents electronically:

• Intake packet 

• Program Payment Agreement 

• Employment Verification Form 

• Program agreements and acknowledgments 

• Any other required admission forms

All required documents must be completed and returned before the admission process can be finalized.

Once the required paperwork has been received and approved, the applicant will be sent a payment link for any required move-in payment or program fees. Payment requirements will be explained before payment is requested.

After all required paperwork and payments have been completed, New Life will work with the applicant to schedule an approved move-in date and time.

On the scheduled move-in date, the applicant will complete an in-person intake with New Life staff. A drug and alcohol screening will be administered before final admission into the house. A negative screening is required. Applicants who do not pass the required screening will not be admitted into the community at that time.

Once the applicant has successfully completed the screening and intake requirements, staff will complete the orientation process. During orientation, the new resident will: 

• Review the house rules and program expectations 

• Receive their room and bed assignment 

• Receive bed linens, when provided by the house 

• Tour the property and common areas 

• Learn the check-in procedure and curfew check-in location 

• Review important house procedures 

• Be introduced to staff and other residents 

• Have an opportunity to ask any remaining questions

Once intake and orientation are complete, the individual officially begins participation in New Life Sober Living. Residents are expected to maintain sobriety, follow all house rules, participate in required meetings and accountability measures, and contribute to a safe and respectful recovery-focused environment.

New Life Sober Living is recovery housing and is not a medical, detoxification, or clinical treatment facility. Admission is based on application review, screening, availability, program fit, completion of required documents, payment requirements, and successful drug and alcohol screening. New Life reserves the right to decline admission when an applicant does not meet program requirements or when the available placement is not appropriate for the individual's needs.
